1. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Similar technologies, such as localStorage, do much the same job. They are used to remember a setting, to keep a site secure, to measure how a site is used, and — where permitted — to measure and personalise advertising.

This policy describes how shotovergrand.com uses them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

2. Our starting position: nothing optional until you choose

When you first arrive, this website sets nothing beyond what is strictly necessary. No analytics technology and no advertising technology is loaded, and no analytics or advertising cookie is set, until you have made an active choice in the cookie banner.

We do not treat scrolling, closing the banner, or moving to another page as consent. Only a click on Accept all, Reject all or Save my choice records a decision.

3. The three categories

3.1 Necessary cookies

Always active, because the site cannot work properly without them. They cover page delivery, security and remembering your cookie choice so you are not asked on every page. Necessary storage never enables analytics or advertising.

Necessary storage we set ourselves
sg_consent_v1First-party localStorage item recording your cookie choice and the date you made it. Kept until you clear it or change your settings; reviewed at least every 12 months.

3.2 Analytics cookies

Off by default. If you turn them on, we may use a measurement service such as Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read, how people arrive and where they leave. This category controls the Consent Mode state analytics_storage.

Typical cookie names in this category, if the service is enabled: _ga, _ga_<container>, _gid. These are set by Google and typically expire between 24 hours and 24 months.

3.3 Marketing cookies

Off by default. If you turn them on, we may use Google Ads conversion tracking, remarketing and ads personalisation to measure our advertising and to show relevant ads elsewhere. This category controls the Consent Mode states ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization.

Typical cookie names in this category, if the service is enabled: _gcl_au, _gcl_aw, _gac_<id>, and Google advertising cookies set on Google domains. These typically expire between 30 and 90 days.

4. Google Consent Mode v2 on this site

Before you make a choice, the site initialises Google Consent Mode v2 with every non-essential state denied:

gtag('consent', 'default', {
  ad_storage: 'denied',
  analytics_storage: 'denied',
  ad_user_data: 'denied',
  ad_personalization: 'denied'
});

When you choose Accept all, all four states are updated to granted. When you choose Reject all, all four remain denied. When you set categories individually, analytics controls analytics_storage and marketing controls ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization, and the update sent reflects exactly what you selected.

Two further measures are enabled regardless of your choice: URL passthrough, so measurement can work without advertising cookies, and ads data redaction, so advertising identifiers are redacted while ad_storage is denied.

If you later withdraw consent, we send an updated denied state and remove any Google analytics or advertising cookie we can see from this domain.

5. Google Tag Manager, GA4 and Google Ads

Where a Google Tag Manager container, a GA4 property or a Google Ads tag is connected to this site, it is configured to load only in line with Consent Mode v2 and to respect ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. Conversion tracking for the enquiry form is gated on the marketing category.

6. Data sharing with Google

If Google services are used and you have consented to the relevant category, some data may be shared with Google, including online identifiers, your IP address and the pages you viewed. You can read more here:

7. How to accept, reject or change your choice

  • Accept all — turns on analytics and marketing.
  • Reject all — leaves only necessary storage. It is one click, exactly like accepting.
  • Settings — lets you turn analytics and marketing on or off individually. Nothing is pre-ticked.

To change or withdraw your consent later, use , which appears in the footer of every page on this site.

You can also manage or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies entirely. Blocking necessary storage may mean the cookie banner reappears on every visit.

8. What we do not do

  • We do not pre-tick analytics or marketing categories.
  • We do not use a cookie wall: all content on this site is readable without consenting to anything.
  • We do not hide the reject option or make it harder to find than accept.
  • We do not infer consent from scrolling, closing the banner or navigating the site.
  • We do not set analytics or advertising cookies before consent.
  • We do not use dark patterns in the banner or the settings panel.

9. Changes to this policy

If we add a technology or change a category, we will update this page and the date at the top, and where the change is material we will ask for consent again.
