Everything we are asked

Straight answers, including the uncomfortable ones.

No. Shotovergrand is an offline event entertainment service. Guests receive symbolic chips that have no monetary value and cannot be bought, topped up or exchanged for cash, credit or goods. There are no stakes, no betting and no cash prizes, and we do not operate any online casino service.

No. The only outcome of a table is chips, and chips stay on the night. Where a host wants a ceremony at the end of the evening we help them present a trophy or a gift they have provided themselves. We never handle, award or facilitate money or cash-equivalent rewards.

A scorekeeping device. They are issued free and equally to every guest on arrival, they are not sold, they cannot be topped up during the evening, and they are counted back in at the end. Off the felt they are worth nothing at all.

Twenty. Our events are designed for adult guests and we will not run a table where under-20s are present on the event floor. We support your venue’s door and ID procedures and will write the restriction into your invitation wording if that is useful.

Up to 155 guests per event. The number of tables is set by how many people will be playing at once rather than by the headcount alone, so we model that with you before quoting.

Up to 6 hours. A typical corporate evening is three to four hours of play inside a longer function; a team building rotation is two to four hours; a signature evening usually runs to about five.

Every event is quoted individually, so we do not publish a rate card. The price depends on the size of the event, the venue, travel and the format you choose. Send us a date and a rough guest count and you will have a written proposal to work from.

Nationwide, from our base in Manapouri. Southland, Otago and Canterbury are routine; the rest of the South Island and the main North Island centres are handled with a travel and freight allowance built into the proposal. See coverage for detail.

No. We supply built tables with felt, chips and a human host. There are no slot machines, no electronic gaming machines and no screen-based gaming of any kind at a Shotovergrand event.

Yes, through production and branding, with about three weeks of lead time from artwork approval. Chips never carry a monetary denomination or currency symbol, because they have no cash value.

Always. We ask for your venue contact early, agree a floor plan and a load-in window directly with them, and work to their house rules on access, power and noise.

Nothing at all. The floor is designed so a guest can stand nearby, watch and be completely part of the evening. Hosts never pressure anyone to a table, and anyone who asks to stop is simply handed a drink and included elsewhere.

We would ask you to think carefully before inviting them, and we would rather you told us. Even without money involved, a casino-themed setting can be unwelcome for someone with a gambling-related problem. Our responsible entertainment notice sets out our position.

Four weeks gives room for branded pieces and a full production. Two weeks is comfortable for a standard evening. We have delivered in under a week, but the choices narrow and travel costs rise.

Roughly three metres by three metres per table including standing room, one standard power outlet per table for lighting, and an access window of about four hours before guests arrive and one hour after they leave.

Yes. You will receive a written proposal, terms and an invoice, and our terms and conditions set out cancellation, liability and responsibility before you commit to anything.

Entertainment only. This is an offline, adults-only event entertainment service. There is no real-money gambling, no betting, no cash prizes and no online casino service. Chips are symbolic, have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money, credit or goods. Guests must be 20 or over. If anything on this page is unclear, our responsible entertainment notice sets out the position in full.

A written proposal takes two working days and costs you nothing. It includes a floor plan sketch, a host count, a running order and a price for your specific evening.
