Experience 04

Three table formats, and how to choose between them.

Roulette-style, blackjack-style and poker-themed tables behave very differently on a floor. Picking the right mix matters more than picking the right number.

Who it suits

Tables are not interchangeable.

A roulette-style table is the social one: a dozen people can crowd the rail, nobody has to learn anything, and the whole group reacts to the same moment. It is the table we put nearest the entrance.

A blackjack-style table is the conversational one: seven seats, a steady rhythm, and the kind of pace where people talk between rounds. It is where guests settle in for twenty minutes.

A poker-themed table is the committed one: slower, more attention, better suited to a seated dinner format than to a moving floor. It rewards a guest list that already knows the game.

  • Roulette-style: highest capacity, no learning curve, best near the door.
  • Blackjack-style: seven seats, steady rhythm, strongest for conversation.
  • Poker-themed: slow and absorbing, best in a dinner or dedicated room.
  • A mixed floor: one roulette, two blackjack and one poker table covers almost any guest list.
  • A single table: entirely workable as one attraction inside a larger programme.
Included as standard

Every table arrives the same way

  • Professional-build table, levelled, with deep teal felt and brass trim.
  • A trained host who teaches, paces and includes rather than performs.
  • Symbolic chips, rack, shoe and cards; chips issued equally to guests.
  • A dedicated warm light aimed at the felt.
  • Rail or surround sized so standing guests are part of the table.
  • Build and de-rig inside the agreed access window.

Quoted individually. The price depends on the size of the event, the venue, travel and the format you choose — we prepare a tailored proposal rather than a rate card.

How it runs

How a table runs through an evening.

First twenty minutes

Teaching

The host runs short, patient walk-throughs. Nobody is quizzed, nobody is singled out, and a first-timer is playing comfortably in about four minutes.

Early

Loading

Guests circulate. The host keeps the table half-full rather than packed, so there is always visible room for someone to join.

Middle

Rhythm

The pace settles. This is where a blackjack-style table does its real work: the rounds are short enough that people talk between them.

Later

Rebalancing

The floor manager moves hosts and sometimes closes a quiet table, so the energy concentrates rather than thins out across the room.

Final round

Showcase

One last round at the busiest table with the room gathered round it. This is the photograph everybody takes.

Close

Reconciliation

Chips counted back in, equipment cased, felt covered. Nothing leaves the room with a guest.

Why this format is safe to book

The games are the theatre. The stakes are the part we removed.

Every table runs on symbolic chips. They are issued free and equally, cannot be bought, cannot be topped up, and cannot be exchanged for cash, credit or goods. No guest stakes money, property or favours at a Shotovergrand table, and no table pays anything out.

We do not supply slot machines, electronic gaming machines or any screen-based gaming of any kind, and we do not operate an online casino service. What we supply is a built table, a trained host and a set of chips that are worth nothing once the lights come up.

Hosts are briefed to close a table rather than let it become a money game. That has happened; it is a two-minute conversation and the evening continues.

Entertainment only. This is an offline, adults-only event entertainment service. There is no real-money gambling, no betting, no cash prizes and no online casino service. Chips are symbolic, have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money, credit or goods. Guests must be 20 or over.

Questions

Three questions about the tables.

Think in terms of how many guests will be playing at once rather than your headcount. One table per 18 to 22 guests is a sound starting point for a standing evening; a seated dinner needs far fewer. We model it properly before quoting.

No. We supply built tables with felt, chips and a human host, and nothing screen-based or mechanical. There are no slot machines, no electronic gaming machines and no gaming screens at any Shotovergrand event.

Yes, through mobile table hire. You take on running the tables and the house rules. We will still write the rules down for you, because the format depends on them.

Next step

Not sure which tables your room needs?

Send us the venue, the guest count and the hour you want people to leave. We will tell you the mix we would build and why.
